Interest in Cricket and the Struggle
Born in February 1, 2003, Durga began her early education at a government school in Rakshi village. Later, she moved to the Betul hostel and then to the Padhar Blind School. Her interest in cricket grew while staying at the Mahesh Drishtihin Kalyan Sangh hostel in Indore. There, she developed a deep understanding of the game and soon proved her talent.
During a blind cricket camp held in Indore in November 2022, Sonu Golkar recognized Durga’s talent and selected her for the district-level team. Her outstanding performance earned her a place in the Madhya Pradesh team. She then showcased her talent in national tournaments held in Bengaluru (2023), Hubli (2024), and Kerala (2025). Finally, these exceptional efforts led to her selection in the Indian national team.

When Durga’s family learned that she could only see up to six meters, they were naturally worried, but her family never let her give up on her dreams. Her father is a farmer, and the family’s financial situation was not strong, yet they provided Durga with all the support they could to help her fulfill her dreams. Durga Yevle’s said,
“I was worried about how I would work when my eyesight completely deteriorated. Earlier, I could see up to 40 meters, but now I can only see up to 6 meters.”
